The aim of this study is to activate bentonite then to use it as a bleaching agent for edible oil. Sample of bentonite were obtained from Jabel Um Ali, North State of Sudan .X–ray fluorescence measurement was performed to determine the chemical composition of the raw clay. It was found that the clay contain Fe, Ti, Sr, Zr and Ca minerals.
